1. Kenya’s tea output shortfall would be an added advantage for Indian market.

2. Food Corporation of India to sell wheat in open market in Punjab & Haryana from June.

3. In a bid to promote organic farming in the state, the Chhattisgarh government plans to prepare a roadmap by the end of this year.

4. Hit by unseasonal rains in the past few months, king of fruits mango is selling at about Rs 100 per kilogram.

5. Government's wheat procurement has increased by nearly 2 per cent to 26.7 million tonnes (MT) so far in 2015-16 marketing year.

6. Chicken prices in India soared to a record high after a heat wave killed more than 17 million birds in May, as temperatures regularly above 40 degrees Celsius led to mounting casualties among livestock.

7. The total sown area under kharif crops stands at 59.56 lakh hectares (lh), a tad up than 59.47 lh sown during the corresponding period last year.

8. BASF India has invested Rs. 64 crore to set up a new global agriculture research centre at Lonikand near Pune. The focus will be on global research on herbicides, pesticides and insecticides and also on solutions beyond classical crop protection.
