India & A.P State Agriculture Updates - 09July'15 !

1. After WTO removed sanctions made by India on U.S meat imports, Poultry Chicken and Egg will be imported from U.S. to meet domestic demand in India.

2. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has moved to establish a maximum limit for melamine (.15mg per litre) in liquid and in powdered (1mg per kg) infant formula.

3. A.P Agriculture Minister mentioned that with 100 farmers each an FPO (Farmer Producer Organization) will be formed with 9 Lakhs funding for each FPO by NABARD.

4. Kerala government's Rs 300 crore subsidy to rubber farmers may increase production.

5. Basmati rice exports, are likely to register an increase of about 10 per cent over the 3.7 mt recorded during the previous fiscal, according to the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).

6. Maharashtra to go for cloud seeding to generate artificial rainfall amid worries of Dry spell and scanty rainfall.

7. To attain double digit growth in Agriculture & Related areas, 'For the Farmer (Raithu Kosam)' programmes are being orgainzed in Chittoor District. Event Details as follows:
