India Agriculture & Food Updates - 08July'15!

1. The Centre has lauded Punjab for implementing Food Act in its true spirit.

2. National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) launched a mobile application 'Pashu Poshan' that will recommend a balanced diet for cows and buffaloes to help boost dairy farmers' income by raising milk yield and cutting feed cost.

3. India will roll out its multi-billion dollar($20billion) food welfare plan by December, the food minister said.

4. As a part of Digital Telangana week, ICRISAT inks MoU to promote IT-based information for farmers.

5. In order to capture the Agricultural data accurately at the Village Level, 1111 tablets are being planned to be distributed to VROs & Tahsildar's in Chittoor District of A.P.

6. The statisticians in Madanapalle Mandal in A.P. are being requested to furnish the details of Lakes, Streams, Ponds, Wells and other water source in WebLand - webland.ap.gov.in.

7. With regards to the main canal formation for Handri-Neeva in Madanapalle circle around 1110 Acres of land procurement is being planned.

8. For the planned International Airport in Vijayanagar District (in Bogapuram), the land pooling of 5551 acres will be carried out only after consent from the farmers, the A.P State HRD minister is quoted as saying.

9. Nestle India has paid Rs 20 crore to Ambuja Cements for destroying Maggi instant noodles, which were found to be harmful for human consumption by the food regulators in the country.

10. India's Supreme Court has ordered Central Government and it's State counter parts to take tougher steps to curb food adulteration that was seriously endangering health of future generations.
