Global Agri & Food Updates - 27thFeb'15 !

1. Widespread rains in the largest Arabica-producing nation Brazil have led to a 14% decline in global Arabica prices in the past two months.

2. PDC Capital Group, a private equity fund, is raising $45m in EB-5 immigrant investor funds to assist biodegradable organic chemical products.

3. USDA launches $160m fund for agri research and education.
The National Institute of Food and Agriculture will award grants across water, climate, childhood obesity and food security projects.

4. The New Mexico State Investment Council (SIC) commits $200m to TIAA-CREF Global Agriculture II.

5. Eight out of the world’s top 10 peanut consumers are in Asia, where eating the nuts appears to be an altogether safer pastime than doing so in Europe or North America.

6. Kerry Group is in advanced discussions to sell its €160m ($181.28m) Australian bakery business Pinnacle.
