1. The $20.26bn New Mexico State Investment Council has approved a $75 commitment to Brookfield Asset Management's Brazil Agriculture Fund II.This is the council's second investment into an agriculture-related fund this year, after it approved a $200m commitment to a TIAA-CREF fund in February.

2. Africa’s agri sector needs government-led investment into basic infrastructure,and the continent is not growing at the rate it should be said delegates at this week's AVCA conference.

3. The South African food and agribusiness private equity fund Agri-Vie is targeting $175m overall and expects some repeat investors, from its $100m fund.
