India Agriculture, Food & Nutrition updates - 02Dec'15 !

1. The overall Indian food industry is expected to be worth US$65.4bn by 2018, a research report has estimated.
2. India readies to combat malnutrition through fortification programme; Food processing minister calls for FDI in produce retailing; and e-Commerce start-up brings ayurvedic formulation to an app.
3. Sharwood’s wants to become the No. 1 brand in the US for pre-made Indian sauces and accompaniments, just like it is in the U.K., by instituting Thursday as “curry night,” according to the food brand’s maker Premier Foods.
4. Commerce Ministry to hold meeting with pulses importers tomorrow to decide on the amount of pulses to be imported by PSUs.
