1. The organic industry is the fastest growing segment of U.S. agriculture, with sales growing from $1 billion in 1990 to nearly $35 billion in 2012.

6.  2.5 years after opening a $206m, 350,000 sq ft factory in Batavia, New York, PepsiCo and German dairy giant Theo Müller Group have agreed to count their losses and exit their joint venture (Muller Quaker Dairy). The plant has been sold to Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) for an undisclosed sum.
