India Agri & Food Updates - 09Jan'2015 !

1. According to Director of the Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI), the country has different agro-climatic conditions, and there is good scope for Agri-business ventures in the areas such as the supply of agricultural inputs, and production and processing. The youth can look at starting ventures in the development of quality seeds with the help of bio-technology and in the supply of quality plantation materials.

2. A dip in minimum (night) temperature may sustain a cold wave over parts of central Indian and trigger ground frost in north Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab over the next three days.The standing rabi crop can do well with a round or two of showers, which will help with their growth.

3. India had 25.1 million tonnes of wheat in government warehouses as of January 1, more than three times the target, potentially making it easier for the Government to allow exports to cash in on attractive global prices.
